1- He was born in a village called " The Eastern
Saleem " , Tema, Sohag governorate on 28th October 1928.
2- He received his elementary education in his village
and recited the Holy Quran, then he joined the Religions institute in Alexandria
in 1944. After he had completed his secondary study, he enrolled on the faculty
of "Asoul-Eddien" Principles of Religion and graduated in 1958. He was well-qualified
to teach in 1959. He was awarded Ph.D. in interpreting and tradition "Hadith" excellently
on 5th September 1966.
3- He joined the teaching staff as a professor in the
faculty of Principles of Religion "Asoul-Eddien" in 1968, then he was appointed
as a dean for the faculty of Principles of Religion, "Asoul- Eddien" in Assuit in
1976, then a dean for the faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies in 1985.
4- He was chosen as a Mufti ( Juris Consult ) to Arab
Republic of Egypt on 28th October 1986. He was appointed as a Grand Sheikh "Iman"
of Al-Azhar on March 27th 1996.
5- He was sent abroad for teaching in the Islamic university
in Libya from 1972 to 1976. He was chosen as a chairman of interpreting "Tafseer"
department for the post-graduate studies in the Islamic university in Medina from
1980 to 1984.
