Under the supervision and in the light of Islam , the
oldest Islamic university started on the banks of the Nile , in the mosque of Amr
Ibn El-As in Fostat in year 21 of Higra . It continued to perform its Islamic spiritanal
and material message till the mosque of Al-Azhar setup in the year 361 of Hijra,
so it contributed strongly and faithfully . After that, Al-Azhar mosque his become
the first in the knowledge leadership to many centuries till now.
It
is a mosque and a university in Cairo , the capital of
Egypt. It was built by Gawhar Al-Sekelly "Elias Al-Sekelly", the leader of Abou
Tamam soldiers, after a year of coming of Al-Fatemein to Egypt and after they had established their new kingdom directly . It was opened for prayer in the month of
Ramadan in the 361 of Higra( June 972 ).
Thanks to Al-Fatemein , Al-Azhar mosque was built and established
. Their state got larger and contained Morocco, Sicily, Egypt, Syria,Palastine,
Hegaz and Yemen . |
